We're all thankful for our Robson community library and the wonderful volunteers who keep it humming seven days a week all year long.

Show your appreciation today by joining Robson Ranch Friends of the Library -- or, if you are already a member, by renewing your membership! It's just $10 per person/year.

You can join or renew online by clicking this link: www.rrtxfol.org/pay.

Or, if you go to the FOL website, you can join or renew at the Join/Renew/Donate link in the main menu.

FOL supports our library and its volunteers by providing books, supplies and equipment.  We sponsor events to thank the dozens of our neighbors who are dedicated library volunteers and we organize thoughtful book discussions open to all Robson residents.  FOL memberships are crucial to our library, which is not tax supported and receives limited HOA funding.

Joining online is the preferred way to update your membership. It minimizes work for the volunteers who run FOL, but if you prefer to pay by check, there are instructions on the website to download a form, fill it out and drop it off at the Robson Library.  There are also membership forms at the library desk. No cash, please.

Thanks for supporting our library!

The Robson book club referring the most NEW members to FOL will be the winner. The winning club will receive two copies of the next four books in their club schedule.

Your book club can register by emailing Deborahdiehl155@gmail.com, or signing up in the library in the CATC building. Registration includes the club name, contact person, and the number active members in the club.

Each Book Club will receive credit for referring NEW members ONLY to Friends of the Library. Renewing members of the FOL do not count toward this challenge. Applications must be received by June 30.

New members referred to the FOL can be book club members as well as RR neighbors and friends. Only residents of RR may join the FOL.  New members must write the name of the referring Book Club on their FOL membership envelope or form submitted with dues payment. Pick up and drop off membership envelopes in the library.

Friends of the Library will determine the winning Book Club.  The winner will be announced no later than July 8.  All decisions final.

Friends of the Library Book Talk, Wednesday May 1, 6:30 p.m. in the Robson Ranch Library

Demon Copperhead, a novel by Barbara Kingsolver, is set in the mountains of southern Appalachia. The story revolves around a boy named Damon Fields, who is born to a teenage single mother.

With no assets beyond his dead father’s good looks, copper-colored hair, a caustic wit, and a fierce talent for survival, Damon faces the challenges of poverty in the contemporary American South. His nickname, ‘Demon Copperhead,’ is derived from the color of his hair and his attitude.

The novel draws inspiration from Charles Dickens’s David Copperfield, but it diverges by exploring contemporary issues and being firmly rooted in the Appalachian setting.”

Demon Copperhead was a co-recipient of the 2023 Pulitzer Prize for Fiction and won the 2023 Women's Prize for Fiction.
