Friends of the Library Book Talk: Thursday, March 14, 6:30 p.m. in the Robson Ranch Library
The next FOL book talk focuses on the novel 11/22/63 by Stephen King. A date is an unusual title for a book, but this date is infamous to residents of Robson Ranch and anyone in our age range because it is etched in our memory. Where were you when you heard that President Kennedy had been shot and subsequently had died?
If you are not a fan of horror, you may not have read Stephen King, but this book is a time travel fantasy, not a book in the horror genre. A reader finds him or herself pulled down the rabbit hole with our protagonist, Jake, reliving the late 1950s and early 1960s, and wondering will he really be able to change history?
Since it was published in 2011, you may have read it in the past. If not, several copies have been placed in the RR Library, and it is available from Amazon to download to your digital reading device. If you just have time for a summary, there is a thorough one on Wikipedia: 11/22/63 - Wikipedia.
Our guide to this book will be Scott Baker who is well known around the ranch. He is a voracious reader, and he likes to talk about good books. He plans for lots of audience participation. Hope you can join us.
